Purpose
These terms govern the use of Music2Status, the iOS and Android application published by IMEDIATIS TECHLAB SARL and distributed on Apple's App Store and the Google Play Store.
Scope
These terms apply to anyone who downloads or uses Music2Status. They supplement, without replacing or contradicting, the App Store terms and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple Standard EULA) for the iOS version, and the Google Play Terms of Service for the Android version.
Acceptance of the terms
By downloading, installing or using Music2Status, the user acknowledges having read and accepted these terms. If the user does not accept them, they must not use the application.
Definitions
- Application: the Music2Status software, in the versions distributed on the App Store and the Google Play Store.
- User: anyone using the application in accordance with these terms.
- Source audio file: the audio file on the device that the user chooses to open in the application.
- Clip: the video or audio file generated by the application from a portion of the source audio file.
- In-app purchase: the single, non-renewing purchase offered in the application to remove the watermark from exported videos and unlock a longer selection length.
Description of the service
Music2Status is a personal editing tool that lets the user select a clip from an audio file already on their device, optionally pair it with synchronized lyrics found online, and export the result (a video with a waveform, or audio only) to share it, in particular as a WhatsApp Status or in a message. These features may change from one version of the application to the next.
No account and no server
Music2Status does not require creating any IMEDIATIS account. All processing of audio files and clips takes place locally on the user's device: the application does not store, host or distribute any music content on an IMEDIATIS server.
License
Subject to compliance with these terms, IMEDIATIS TECHLAB SARL grants the user a personal, limited, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to use Music2Status, within the conditions and limits set by the App Store or Google Play rules. This license does not give the user any ownership rights in the application.
User content and music rights
The user is solely responsible for the audio files they open in the application and for the clips they export or share. They must hold the necessary rights (ownership, license, or personal use permitted by law) to any music they use, and respect the copyright and related rights of the artists, authors, composers and producers concerned. IMEDIATIS has no access to any audio file or clip and therefore can neither check nor moderate them.
Synchronized lyrics
The synchronized lyrics offered in the application come from LRCLIB, a third-party community database. Their accuracy, synchronization and availability are not guaranteed. Copyright in these lyrics belongs to their respective owners, and use of LRCLIB is subject to that service's own terms.
In-app purchase
Music2Status is free to download. The application offers a single, non-renewing in-app purchase, with no subscription, that removes the watermark from exported videos and unlocks a longer selection length. Purchasing, billing, collection of applicable taxes and refund requests are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), under their respective policies. IMEDIATIS TECHLAB SARL does not directly collect or refund the price of the in-app purchase.
A purchase already made can be recovered on a new device, or after deleting data, with the application's "Restore" function, using the same Apple or Google account.
User obligations
The user undertakes to use Music2Status for its intended purpose, in accordance with these terms and applicable law. In particular, they must not use the application to create or distribute content that infringes the rights of others, or content that is unlawful, hateful or defamatory.
Sharing through third-party services
Sharing a clip (for example, as a WhatsApp Status or in a message) is done through the system share sheet, to the app chosen by the user. Use of these third-party services is subject to their own terms, and the user remains solely responsible for the content they publish there.
Updates and product changes
IMEDIATIS may release updates to Music2Status, in particular to keep it compatible with new versions of iOS and Android, fix issues, or change features. IMEDIATIS does not guarantee that the application will remain compatible with every future version of these systems indefinitely, nor that every feature will remain unchanged. Any significant change introducing an online service or data collection would be preceded by a revision of these terms and of the Music2Status privacy policy.
Availability and support
IMEDIATIS uses reasonable efforts to keep Music2Status working properly, without guaranteeing permanent availability or the complete absence of issues. A support channel is available to users through our contact form (category "Product support", with Music2Status preselected), without any guaranteed response time.
Intellectual property
Music2Status, its source code, interface, graphic elements, brand and name remain the exclusive property of IMEDIATIS TECHLAB SARL or its licensors. These terms do not give the user any rights in these elements, other than the license described above.
Usage restrictions
Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, the user must not reproduce, distribute, resell, sublicense or transfer the application outside the authorized App Store and Google Play channels; circumvent the in-app purchase, watermark or security mechanisms of the application; or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the application, except where expressly permitted by applicable law.
Warranties and exclusions
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Music2Status is provided "as is", without any warranty of uninterrupted operation, freedom from errors, or fitness for a particular purpose. IMEDIATIS does not guarantee that exported clips will be free of defects, nor the accuracy or availability of the lyrics provided by LRCLIB.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the liability of IMEDIATIS TECHLAB SARL under these terms is limited to direct and reasonably foreseeable damage resulting from a proven breach by IMEDIATIS of its own obligations. IMEDIATIS cannot be held liable for indirect damage, for the user's use of music content or the clips they share, or for any event beyond its reasonable control, including a malfunction of the device, the operating system, or the services of Apple, Google, LRCLIB or WhatsApp.
Third-party services, App Store and Google Play
Access to Music2Status depends on the operation of the App Store, Google Play and, for lyrics search, LRCLIB, over which IMEDIATIS has no control. Any unavailability, change or interruption of these services is outside IMEDIATIS's responsibility.
Termination
The user may stop using Music2Status at any time, delete their local data from the application's "Account" screen, and uninstall the application. IMEDIATIS may suspend or terminate the right to use the application in the event of a serious breach of these terms, within the limits allowed by the App Store and Google Play rules and applicable law.
Governing law and dispute resolution
The default governing law for IMEDIATIS products is the law of the Republic of Cameroon. These terms are therefore governed by Cameroonian law.
The competent courts of Douala, Cameroon, are the contractual forum of reference for any dispute relating to the interpretation or performance of these terms, failing an amicable resolution, subject to mandatory provisions of applicable law, in particular consumer protection rules that cannot be waived and that may allow a consumer user to bring proceedings before another competent court.
Changes to these terms
IMEDIATIS may change these terms, in particular to reflect changes to the product, updates to the App Store or Google Play rules, or regulatory changes. Any substantial change will result in a new version, published with an updated date.

Questions about these terms can be sent through our contact form, category "Product support" (Music2Status preselected) or "Legal".
